EphB1 also known as Ephrin type-B receptor 1, is a member of the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein tyrosine kinase family which 16 known receptors. EphB1 has been shown to bind ephrin-B2, ephrin-B1, ephrin-A3, ephrin-A1, ephrin-A4, and ephrin-B3. It binds to tyrosine kinase phosphorylates syndecan-2 and that this phosphorylation event is crucial for syndecan-2 clustering and spine formation. Ephrin receptors and their ligands, the ephrins, mediate numerous developmental processes, particularly in the nervous system. The ephrin/Eph families also appear to play a role in angiogenesis. Recombinant human EPHB1, fused to His-Tag at C- terminal, was expressed in HEK293 cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
