TNFRSF4, also known as tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 4, is a T cell co-stimulatory molecule in the TNF receptor superfamily. This protein coordinates with other co-stimulatory substances (CD28, CD40, CD30, CD27 and 4-1BB) to control the activation of the immune response. It plays an important role in antigen-specific T cell expansion and survival. It is up-regulated on CD4+ and CD8+ T cells upon engagement of the TCR by antigen presenting cells along with co-stimulation by CD40-CD40 Ligand and CD28-B7. This protein also regulates cytokine production from T cells, antigen presenting cells, natural killer cells and natural killer cells and regulate cytokine receptor signaling. Recombinant human TNFRSF4, fused to hIgG-His-Tag at C -terminal, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
