Creatine Kinase is an enzyme present in muscle, brain, and other tissues of vertebrates that catalyzes the reversible conversion of ADP and phosphocreatine into ATP and creatine. Activity: 100U/mg Unit Definition: One unit will catalyze the transphosphorylation of one micromole of phosphate from creatine phosphate to ADP/minute at 37C. Protein: 0.5mg protein/mg (Coomassie) Specific Activity: 200U/mg protein Contaminants: GOT/AST: 4% GPT/ALT: 0.1% LDH: 0.1% Ammonia: 0.1micromole/mg Form: Supplied as a lyophilized powder from Tris chloride, EDTA and DTT Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
