Human Cathepsin G is a serine protease located in the azurophil granules of neutrophils. Studies have shown that when released from granulocytes, Cathepsin G binds to NK cells and augments NK cytotoxicity through its protease activity. Specific Activity: 5U/mg protein Unit Definition: One unit will hydrolyze one micromole of succinyl-alanine-alanine-proline-phenylalanine-p-nitroanilide/minute at 37C and pH 7.5. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
