CRM197 is a genetically detoxified diphtheria toxin. Specifically, it has a single amino acid substitution (glycine52 to glutamic acid), which causes the ADP-ribosyltransferase activity to be lost. CRM197 is widely used as the carrier protein for conjugate vaccines. Recombinant protein corresponding to Diptheria Toxin CRM197, strain C. diphtheriae, produced as a soluble intracellular protein in E. coli. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
