For the quantitative determination of bovine Interleukin 1 in serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 250pg/ml Detection Range: 250-4000pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of bovine IL-1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between bovine IL-1 and analogues was observed. Assay Principle: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to IL-1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated IL-1. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between IL-1 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated IL-1 with the pre-coated antibody specific for IL-1. The more amount of IL-1 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated IL-1. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of IL-1 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Kit Components: Microtiter Strips, 1x96 wells Standard, 5x1ml Conjugate, 1x6ml HRP-avidin, 1x6ml Wash Buffer (20X), 1x15ml Substrate A, 1x7ml Substrate B, 1x7ml Storage and Stability: Store all kit components at 4C. Stable for 6 months after receipt. Once opened, the kit is stable for 1 month providing this is within the expiration date of the kit. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
