(Diacetoxyiodo)benzene is a hypervalent iodine reagent that is used in conjunction with catalytic amount of sodium azide in acetonitrile, which enables oxidative decarboxylation of 2-aryl carboxylic acid into the corresponding aldehydes, ketones and nitriles. Melting Point: 161-163C Solubility: DMSO, Methanol Stability: Light and Moisture sensitive Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
