Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) is used as a positive control when detecting GFP fusion proteins in GFP assays. Polyclonal GFP can detect GFP by ELISA (sandwich or capture) or western blot. Biotin conjugated polyclonal GFP used in a sandwich ELISA is well suited to titrate GFP in solution when used in combination with monoclonal GFP, using either form as the capture or detection. Control GFP can be used as a control in western blots. Researchers should determine optimal titers for applications. Recombinant protein corresponding to Aequorea victoria green Fluorescent Protein, expressed in E. coli. Accession/Uniprot: P42212 Applications: Suitable for use as a control for polyclonal or monoclonal anti-GFP in immunological assays. Has been tested in SDS-page, western blot, and immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
