Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to 19aa from the N-terminus of human GIPR. Species sequence homology: monkey.
GIPR, or Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide Receptor, mediates GIP-induced secretion of insulin by pancreatic islet beta cells after a meal. GIP is a gastrointestinal peptide hormone of 42 aa that is released from duodenal endocrine K cells after absorption of glucose or fat. Stimulation of the GIPR on pancreatic cells activates adenylyl cyclase and mitogen-activated protein kinase, resulting in increased insulin secretion. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 8-21ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
