Synthetic peptide corresponding to 15aa from the internal region of human TRPM8. Species sequence homology: bovine, xenopus, monkey and porcine.
TRPM8 is a receptor activated non-selective cation channel, permeable for monovalent cations sodium, potassium, cesium and the divalent cation calcium. It was originally identified due to its up regulation in prostate carcinoma. It has since been shown to be involved in the detection of coldness and is activated by icilin, eucalyptol, menthol, cold, and modulation of intracellular pH. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 2.4ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
