A cell-permeable quinoxaline compound that is shown to induce neuronal differentiation in PC12 and rat MSC (mesenchymal stem cell) cultures with high efficiency (>95%, 20uM for 48h) as determined by Nissl staining, expressions of neuronal markers and genes (B-III tubulin, NSE, Chrna2, Chrnb2, Chrm4, Foxo2, Sizn 1), as well as by whole-cell electrophysiology measurements, without any concomitant astroglial differentiation induction as indicated by the absence of GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) expression. Formula: C18H17N3O3 Molecular Weight: 323.4 Solubility: DMSO (25mg/ml, pale yellow solution) Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
