1-Hexanesulfonic acid sodium salt monohydrate (1HSASM) is a drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of acute phase response. It has been demonstrated in an animal study that 1HSASM could be used safely and effectively for the treatment of intestinal inflammation. The mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it may have effects on markers such as t-cells, toxins, and intestinal markers. 1HSASM has also been shown to be effective in preventing zearalenone-induced immunosuppression in mice. This drug is not active against other types of inflammation or cancerous cells, however, it may have potential for treating chronic inflammatory diseases.
