Magnesium (Mg) is one of the most abundant and essential minerals in mammals. Magnesium is involved in more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body and plays important roles in muscle and nerve functions, heart rhythm, immune system and bone formation. Magnesium deficiency may lead to nausea, fatigue, muscle contractions, hypocalcemia and hypokalemia. Range: 0.1-3mg/dL (41um-1.2mM) Test Principle: This Magnesium BioAssay(TM) kit is designed to measure magnesium directly in biological samples without any pretreatment. A calmagite dye in the kit forms a colored complex specifically with magnesium. The intensity of the color, measured at 500nm, is directly proportional to the magnesium concentration in the sample. The optimized formulation minimizes interference by potential substances. Kit Components: Reagent A, 1x25ml Reagent B, 1x25ml EDTA Solution, 2x1.5ml Standard, 10mg/dL, 1x1ml Storage and Stability: Store powder at 4C liquid at -20C. Store other components at 4C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
