Control Peptide for N2176-63G. Neuropeptide Y (NPY) receptors are members of a G protein coupled receptor superfamily and they mediate a variety of physiological responses including feeding and vasoconstriction. The endogenous ligands of NPY receptors are a family of structurally related peptides, including NPY, peptide YY (PYY), and pancreatic polypeptide (PP). Increased activity of NPY and its receptors, Y1R, Y2R, and Y5R has been found in the brain in many forms of experimental obesity. Furthermore, several association studies have supported the association between NPY2R and obesity. This NPY Y2 antibody has been extensively characterized in the spinal cord, brain and distal colon. Source: Synthetic peptide corresponding to (C)TDSFSEATNV-COOH of Neuropeptide Y Y2 Receptor. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Antibody Blocking. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
