The glycine receptor is a neurotransmitter-gated ion channel. Binding of glycine to its receptor increases the chloride conductance and thus produces hyperpolarization (inhibition of neuronal firing). Source: aa383-406, Human Molecular Weight: ~2827.32 Sequence: Ser-Pro-Asp-Glu-Met-Arg-Lys-Val-Phe-Ile-Asp-Arg-Ala-Lys-Lys-Ile-Asp-Thr-Ile-Ser-Arg-Ala-Cys-Phe Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
