CNTF is a survival factor for various neuronal cell types. Seems to prevent the degeneration of motor axons after axotomy. Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using human TF-1 cells is less than 150ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 6.7x10e3 IU/mg.
