Fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase domain-containing protein 1, also known as FAHD1, belongs to the FAH family. FAHD1 is thought to have hydrolase activity and uses Magnesium and Calcium as cofactors. It appears highly probable that the metal binding sites are involved in an enzymatic activity related to the catabolism of aromatic amino acids. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-224 of human FAHD1, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.
