Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase, cytosolic, also known as cytosolic acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ACAT (acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase 2) gene. ACAT2 is an acetyl-CoA C-acetyltransferase enzyme, plays a role in regulating lipid metabolism. It catalyzes the synthesis of acetoacetyl-CoA from two acetyl-CoA molecules, which is later converted into steroids. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: F0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
