Product Description

Glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme which exists in cytoplasmic and mitochondrial forms, GOT1 and GOT2, respectively. GOT plays a role in amino acid metabolism and the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. The two enzymes are homodimeric and show close homology. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-413 from human GOT1, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Accession: NP_002070 Molecular Weight: ~48.4kD (433aa) Specific Activity: >50units/mg. Defined as the amount of enzyme that converts 1umole of a-ketoglutarate to L-Glutamate/minute at pH 8.0 at 25C.
