HPGD, also known as 15-PGDH, is the fundamental enzyme of prostaglandin degradation. This protein strongly reduces the biologic activity of these molecules by catalyzing the oxidation of the 15-hydroxyl group of prostaglandins to a keto group. HPGD is implicated in many physiologic and cellular processes, such as inflammation. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-266 from human HPGD, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.
