MVD, also known as diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase, catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate in one of the early steps in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-400 from human MVD, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.
