Cytomegalovirus is a member of the Herpesviridae family. It may be transmitted from person to person through urine, saliva, other bodily fluids, breast milk and transplanted organs. It is a common infection which mostly passes unnoticed. The infection may be dangerous to people who are immunocompromised such as those who are HIV positive or organ transplant recipients. The infection may also be dangerous to pre- and post-natal infants. Antiviral drugs are useful in the treatment of CMV infection. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa11-67 of Cytomegalovirus, fused to GST-tag expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~32kD Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
