Poliovirus receptor-like proteins (PVRLs), such as PVRL4, are adhesion receptors of the immunoglobulin superfamily and function in cell-cell adhesion (Reymond et al., 2001). By database analysis, Reymond et al. (2001) identified the PVRL4 gene, which encodes a 510aa protein with a predicted molecular mass of 55.5kD. It contains 1 predicted transmembrane domain, followed by a 139-residue cytoplasmic sequence. Human and murine PVRL4 share 92% aa identity. Northern blot analysis showed strong expression of a 3.7-kb human PVRL4 transcript in placenta and weak expression in trachea. Murine Pvrl4 was expressed at embryonic days 11, 15 and 17. Immunohistochemistry revealed human PVRL4 localized to endothelial cells from vessels in placental villi. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
