Cingulin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CGN gene. Cingulin is specifically localized at tight junctions in epithelial cells, unlike ZO-1, which is also detected at adherens-type junctions in non-epithelial cells. During early Xenopus embryo development, cingulin is detected at a cortical localization, and then accumulates at apical junctions, unlike ZO-1 and other junctional proteins, that are targeted to the new regions of cell-cell contact via the lateral domain. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen and paraffin Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
