RUNX1 is an eukaryotic gene and the protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor associated with M2 AML, a type of leukemia. It belongs to the Runt-related transcription factor (RUNX) family of genes which are also called core binding factor-alpha (CBFalpha). RUNX proteins form a heterodimeric complex with CBFbeta which confers increased DNA binding and stability to the complex. RUNX1 is thought to be involved in the development of normal hematopoiesis. Chromosomal translocations involving this gene are well-documented and have been associated with several types of leukemia. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. The consensus binding site for CBF has been identified to be a 7bp sequence PyGPyGGTPy. Py denotes pyrimidine which can be either cytosine or thymine. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:50-500 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:10-100 Immunocytochemistry: 1:50-500 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
