Pluronic F-127 in DMSO is a nonionic, surfactant polyol (molecular weight approximately 12,500 daltons) that has been found to facilitate the solubilization of water-insoluble dyes and other materials in physiological media. Pluronic F-127 is commonly used to help disperse the acetoxymethyl (AM) esters of our ion indicators as well as our cell tracer dyes such as CFDA-SE. Pluronic F-127 (Poloxamer 407) is a hydrophilic non-ionic surfactant of the more general class of copolymers known as poloxamers. Poloxamer 407 is a triblock copolymer consisting of a central hydrophobic block of polypropylene glycol flanked by two hydrophilic blocks of polyethylene glycol. The approximate lengths of the two PEG blocks is 101 repeat units while the approximate length of the propylene gycol block is 56 repeat units. Synonyms: Poloxamer 407, Synperonic PE/F 127 CAS No: 9003-11-6 Molecular Formula: (C3H6OC2H4O)x Solubility (50mg/ml, H2O, <10 deg C): Colorless to pale yellow, cloudiness which dissipates with the addition of low heat, precipitate. Storage and Stability: Store at RT. Stable for 6 months after receipt.
