Class-III ADH is rarkably ineffective in oxidizing ethanol, but it readily catalyzes the oxidation of long-chain primary alcohols and the oxidation of S-(hydroxymethyl) glutathione. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-374 from human ADH5, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in Yeast.
