Chloramphenicol, produced by Streptomyces venezuel, belongs to bacteriostatic broad-spectrum antibiotics. In China, Chloramphenicol is forbidden in breeding industry for serious adverse reaction to hematopoietic system. The method of instrumental analytical is major to detect Chloramphenicol, but it needs expensive instruments, professional operators and complex pre-treatment, While the method of enzyme linked immunoassay has advantages with simple, rapid, high sensitivity, good specificity and low cost. This BioAssay(TM) kit is a detection product developed based on ELISA technology, with operation time as short as 50 minutes. Sample Type: Honey 0.025ppb, tissue 0.025ppb, eggs 0.05ppb, milk 0.05ppb Intended Use: This BioAssay(TM) kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of Chloramphenicol concentrations in egg, honey, milk, tissue (chicken, duck, porcine, fish, shrimp). Sensitivity: 0.05ppb Range: 0.05-4.05ppb Precision: Intra-assay: CV%<10% Inter-assay: CV%<10% Test Principle: This BioAssay(TM) employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this BioAssay(TM) kit has been pre-coated with Chloramphenic ol antigen. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Chloramphenicol specific antibody and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated anti-antibody. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between pre-coated Chloramphenicol and Chloramphenicol in standards or samples with the Chloramphenicol special antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of Chloramphenicol in the standards or samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
