IL17B, also known as interleukin-17B isoform 1, is a T cell-derived cytokine that shares sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine was reported to stimulate the release of TNF alpha (TNF) and IL1 beta (IL1B) from a monocytic cell line. It plays a role in inflammation and bone growth. IL-17B binds to IL-17 RB and induces the production of inflammatory cytokines and the infiltration of inflammatory immune cells.
