Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FLT1 gene. Oncogene FLT belongs to the src gene family and is related to oncogene ROS. Like other members of this family, it shows tyrosine protein kinase activity that is important for the control of cell proliferation and differentiation. This protein binds to VEGFR-A, VEGFR-B and placental growth factor and plays an important role in angiogenesis and vasculogenesis. Expression of this receptor is found in vascular endothelial cells, placental trophoblast cells and peripheral blood monocytes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Isoforms include a full-length transmembrane receptor isoform and shortened, soluble isoforms. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution.
