Secreted frizzled-related protein 5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SFRP5 gene. SFRP5 is a member of the SFRP family that contains a cysteine-rich domain homologous to the putative Wnt- binding site of Frizzled proteins. SFRPs act as soluble modulators of Wnt signaling. SFRP5 and SFRP1 may be involved in determining the polarity of photoreceptor cells in the retina. SFRP5 is highly expressed in the retinal pigment epithelium, and moderately expressed in the pancreas. Sample Type: Serum, cell culture supernates, plasma (Heparin or EDTA). Intended Use: Sandwich High Sensitivity BioAssay(TM) ELISA kit for Quantitative Detection of Rabbit SFRP5. Sensitivity: <15pg/ml Range: 156pg/ml-10,000pg/ml Specificity: Recognizes natural and recombinant Rabbit SFRP5. There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. Test Principle: This Rabbit SFRP5 BioAssay(TM) ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune- sorbent assay technology. A specific for Rabbit SFRP5 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: CHO, Immunogen sequence: E30-H317) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection specific for Rabbit SFRP5 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Rabbit SFRP5 amount of sample captured in plate.
