3-Heptyl-2,4-dimethyl-thiazolium Iodide is an intermediate in synthesizing Platonin Diiodide (P578210), a photosensitive cyanine dye used in cell biology and has also been used in wounds and burns. Platonin Diiodide can also be used in biological study of deodorant skin cleansers containing polyquaternium 10 and antibacterial components and method for suppressing body odor using the cleansers.
