N-(L-Prolyl)-beta-alanine is a derivative of beta-Alanine (A637320), a naturally occurring beta amino acid that is formed in vivo by the degradation of Dihydro Uracil (D449990) and Carnosine (C184190). beta-Alanine is also the rate-limiting precursor of Carnosine, as a result supplementation with beta-alanine increases the concentration of Carnosine in muscles.
