N-[3-Methyl-2-phenylbutyl]-2-[4-isobutylphenyl]propionamide (PBA Amide) is the impurity of rac Ibuprofen (I140000), which is a selective cyclooxygenase inhibitor (IC50=14.9uM). Also, it inhibits PGH synthase-1 and PGH synthase-2 with comparable potency. Ibuprofen has been shown to reduce Ebola infection in rodents. This compound is a contaminant of emerging concern (CECs).
