Salmonellosis in humans and food animals caused by S. Typhimurium is characterized by fever, acute intestinal inflammation, and diarrhea within 24h after infection. Source: Salmonella typhimurium clinical strain from coproculture. Applications: Suitable for use as a positive control in Lateral Flow assays and to spike stool samples. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Inactivation: Binary Ethylenimine + Formaldehyde Inactivation. Confirmed by absence of colonies after 72 hours. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
