Cy3 can be used to viualize the binding pattern of Concanavalin A (Jackbean) Lectin (Con A) in cellular imaging and flow cytometry. Cy3 is more photostable than many other flourophores and can be seen with TRITC filter sets. It is commonly combined with green-fluorescent dyes for dual-labeling Carbohydrate Specificity: Glucose, Mannose Inhibitory Carbohydrate: a-Methylglucoside, a-Methylmannoside Activity: Relatively weak blood agglutinin. >10ug/ml will agglutination of neuraminidase-treated human erythrocytes. Fluorescence: Orange Divalent Ions: Ca++, Mn++ Excitation: 550nm Emission: 570nm Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. CY3 conjugates are sensitive to light.
