Maackia amurensis Lectin (MAA/MAL I + II) is composed of two isolectins extracted from Maackia amurensis seeds and purified by affinity chromatography. MAA I + II can be used to detect N-linked and O-linked sialylated glycans. Neither isolectin agglutinates one blood type more than another and agglutination can be inhibited by lactose at high concentrations. Source: Amur maackia Blood Specificity: Non-specific Sugar Specificity: N-Acetylneuraminic acid (Sialic acid) Inhibitory Carbohydrate: Human Glycophorin Divalent Ions: None Required Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C.
