Alkaline phosphatase (AP) is conjugated to Maackia amurensis Lectin (MAA/MAL II) to show the binding of MAA/MAL II in many applications including Western blotting and ELISA. Alkaline phosphatase is a large protein (140kD) that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate groups from a substrate resulting in a colored or fluorescent product. The optimal enzymatic activity of this protein is between pH 8 and 10, and its reaction rate remains linear, improving sensitivity over time. Source: Amur maackia Blood Specificity: Non-specific Sugar Specificity: N-Acetylneuraminic acid (Sialic acid) Inhibitory Carbohydrate: Human Glycophorin Divalent Ions: None Required Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C for 6 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Form: Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.02% sodium azide. Labeled with Alkaline Phophatase (AP).
