Anpep, also known as aminopeptidase N, is located in the small-intestinal and renal microvillar membrane and also in other plasma membranes. It plays a role in the final digestion of peptides generated from hydrolysis of proteins by gastric and pancreatic proteases. This protein is also involved in the processing of various peptides including peptide hormones, such as angiotensin III and IV, neuropeptides, and chemokines. It has a role in angiogenesis and promote cholesterol crystallization and in amino acid transport by acting as binding partner of amino acid transporter SLC6A19 and regulating its activity. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa33-966 from mouse Aminopeptidase N/CD13 fused to His-Tag, at C-terminal, expressed in Baculovirus. Molecular Weight: ~107.5kD (943aa) Biological Activity: Specific activity is > 4,000 pmol/min/ug, and is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyze 1pmole of H-Ala-AMC to Alanine and AMC per minute at pH7.5 at 25C.
