Thioredoxin-1 is a low molecular weight redox protein. Thioredoxin-1 contains a redox active disulfide/dithiol group within the conserved Cys-Gly-Pro-Cys active site. It is involved in the first unique step in DNA synthesis. Thioredoxin-1 also provides control over a number of transcription factors affecting cell proliferation and death through a mechanism referred to as redox regulation. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-105 from mouse Thioredoxin-1 alpha, fused to His-Tag, expressed in E. coli. Accession: NP_035790. Molecular Weight: ~14.1kD (128aa) confirmed by MALDI-TOF Biological Activity: Specific activity is >60 A650/cm/min/mg, obtained by measuring the increase of insulin precipitation in absorbance at 650nm resulting from the reduction of insulin Amino Acid Sequence: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSMVKLIES KEAFQEALAA AGDKLVVVDF SATWCGPCKM IKPFFHSLCD KYSNVVFLEV DVDDCQDVAA DCEVKCMPTF QFYKKGQKVG EFSGANKEKL EASITEYA Applications: Suitable for use in Enzyme Activity and SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
