Osteopontin (OPN), also known as Secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1), is a human gene product which is conserved in other species. This protein is glycoprotein that was first identified in osteoblasts and plays an important role in bone remodeling, immune functions in fibroblasts, macrophages, and lymphocytes during inflammation and wound healing. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa17-314 from human Osteopontin, fused to His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~36.2kD (321aa) confirmed by MALDI-TOF (Molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher) Amino Acid Sequence: RSMIPVKQAD SGSSEEKQLY NKYPDAVATW LNPDPSQKQN LLAPQNAVSS EETNDFKQET LPSKSNESHD HMDDMDDEDD DDHVDSQDSI DSNDSDDVDD TDDSHQSDES HHSDESDELV TDFPTDLPAT EVFTPVVPTV DTYDGRGDSV VYGLRSKSKK FRRPDIQYPD ATDEDITSHM ESEELNGAYK AIPVAQDLNA PSDWDSRGKD SYETSQLDDQ SAETHSHKQS RLYKRKANDE SNEHSDVIDS QELSKVSREF HSHEFHSHED MLVVDPKSKE EDKHLKFRIS HELDSASSEV N Biological Activity: Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of HEK293 human embryonic kidney cells. When cells are added to OPN coated plates 10ug/ml. This effect is more to 40%. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
