Binds and compacts DNA (95 to 150 base pairs) to form nucleosome-like structures that contain positive DNA supercoils. Increases the resistance of DNA to thermal denaturation. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-69 from Methanothermus fervidus DNA-binding protein HMf-1, fused to 10X His-Tag at N-terminal and Myc-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in E.coli.
