Binds and retains class I heavy chains in the endoplasmic reticulum during the early period of virus infection, thereby impairing their transport to the cell surface. Also delays the expression of class I alleles that it cannot affect by direct retention. Binds transporters associated with antigen processing (TAP) and acts as a tapasin inhibitor, preventing class I/TAP association. In consequence, infected cells are masked for immune recognition by cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa18-123 from human adenovirus C serotype 2 Early E3 18.5kD glycoprotein, fused to 10X His-Tag at N-terminal and Myc-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~20.0kD Amino Acid Sequence: AKKVEFKEPACNVTFKSEANECTTLIKCTTEHEKLIIRHKDKIGKYAVYAIWQPGDTNDYNVTVFQGENRKTFMYKFPFYEMCDITMYMSKQYKLWPPQKCLENTG Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C.
