This enzyme, isolated from small intestine, specifically inactivates the apo forms of a certain group of intracellular pyridoxal phosphate-requiring enzymes. It has chymotrypsin-like specificity towards small substrates. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-513 from rat Mast cell protease 2, fused to 6X His-Tag at N-terminal and Myc-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in Yeast.
