Growth factor that controls proliferation and cellular differentiation in the retina and bone formation. Plays a key role in regulating apoptosis during retinal development. Establishes dorsal-ventral positional information in the retina and controls the formation of the retinotectal map. Recombinant protein corresponding to aa336-455 from human Growth/differentiation factor 6, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~13.6kD Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by inducing alkaline phosphatase production of murine ATDC5 cells is less than 2.0ug/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >500IU/mg. Amino Acid Sequence: TAFASRHGKR HGKKSRLRCS KKPLHVNFKE LGWDDWIIAP LEYEAYHCEG VCDFPLRSHL EPTNHAIIQT LMNSMDPGST PPSCCVPTKL TPISILYIDA GNNVVYKQYE DMVVESCGCR Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
