Native glucoamylase from Rhizopus species. Glucoamylase is a multi-domain enzyme that belongs to the glycosyl hydrolase 15 family. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of 1,4-linked alpha-D-glucose residues in glucosylpolysaccharides, liberating glucose units. Useful for the enzymatic determination of starch. Synonyms: Acid Maltase from Rhizopus, Glucan 1,4-alpha-glucosidase, Glucoamylase, Amyloglucosidase, gamma-Amylase, Lysosomal alpha-glucosidase, exo-4,7-alpha-glucosidase CAS No: 9032-08-0 Appearance: White to gray to red powder Purity: Titer: 1500 U/g Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to release 1mg of D-glucose reducing-sugar equivalents per minute from soluble starch at pH 4.5 and 37C. Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20C. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -20C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
