6-O-Demethylvermistatin is a benzofuranone produced by a range of fungi, including Penicillium and a marine-derived Guignardia sp. Unlike its analogue vermistatin, 6-O-demethylvermistatin is inactive against alpha-glucosidase. The bioactivity of 6-O-demethylvermistatin is otherwise unexplored. Source: Talaromyces sp.
