Hancockinone A is a novel polycyclic metabolite produced by A. hancockii following CRISPR-based pathway activation. Hancockinone A features an unprecedented prenylated 6/6/6/5 tetracarbocyclic skeleton. Hancockinone A displays moderate in vitro antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus and no significant antitumor activity. Source: Aspergillus hancockii Molecular Formula: C24H22O7 Molecular Weight: 422.4 Appearance: Purple solid Solubility: Methanol, DMSO. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with methanol or DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
