Lirioresinol B dimethylether (yangambin) is a tetrahydrofurofuran lignan first isolated from the bark of the yellow poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) by Dickey, Institute of Paper Sciences, USA, in 1957. Isolated from many plant species, including Virola, Artemisia and Ambrosia, lirioresinol B methylether possesses a wide bioprofile, including PAF inhibition and anti-allergic, cardioprotective, antibacterial, antioxidant and antiinsectan activities.
