Aquastatin B is the acid hydrolysis product of aquastatin A, produced by Fusarium sp. Aquastatin B strongly inhibits enoyl-ACP reductase (FabI) of Staphylococcus aureus. Aquastatin B is active against Bacillus subtilis with MIC 1.6 µg/mL but inactive against S. aureus and S. cerevisiae. Aquastatin B is inactive against NS-1 and NFF cell lines.
